Balancing · Aeroseal duct sealing · NYC metro

Hydronic balancing, flow set to design.

Water-side balancing so every coil and terminal unit gets the flow it was designed for — pumps, coils, boilers and chillers, with flow set at the balancing valves and every reading recorded for the report.

Hydronic balancing

Hydronic balancing across NYC, Long Island, Westchester & NJ

When the water side is out of balance, some zones starve while others overheat or overcool. We measure and set the flow across the system to the design GPM and document it for the engineer and owner.

  • Pumps, coils, boilers and chillers
  • Flow set at balancing valves to design GPM
  • Readings recorded for the report
  • New construction and existing buildings
  • Pairs with air balancing for a complete TAB report

What we test and balance

New construction, renovations and existing buildings that never felt right. Residential and commercial. We can test the ducts, seal them and balance the system in one visit.

Air balancing (TAB)

We measure airflow at every grille and diffuser and set the system to the design numbers.

  • Supply, return, exhaust and fresh air
  • Dampers, fan speeds and drives adjusted to design
  • Equipment readings: amps, belts, filters

Aeroseal duct sealing

Seals duct leaks from the inside, including the ones hidden in walls, ceilings and chases that can't be reached by hand.

  • Leakage measured before and after, with a printed certificate of results
  • More air reaches the rooms, less is lost in the walls
  • Pairs with leakage testing and balancing

How it works

From request to report

Tell us about the job

Send the request below. Plans and the design schedule help us quote it accurately.

We schedule and test

We set a date that fits your schedule and take readings at every outlet and unit.

We adjust to design

Dampers, drives and valves are set until the readings match the design numbers.

You get the report

A clear balance report, emailed to you, ready for the engineer, inspector or owner.

The report

Numbers you can close out with

  • Design vs. final for every outlet, with % of design
  • Separate totals for supply, return, exhaust and fresh air
  • Equipment data: model, serial, filter and belt sizes, amps before and after
  • Emailed as a PDF when the work is done

Questions

Good to know

What is air balancing (TAB)?

Testing, adjusting and balancing. We measure the airflow at every grille and diffuser, adjust dampers, fan speeds and drives until the system matches the design numbers, and document it all in a balance report.

Do you work on homes as well as commercial buildings?

Yes. We balance and test new construction, renovations and existing buildings — commercial and residential — including homes with rooms that never heat or cool like the rest of the house.

What's in the balance report?

Design vs. final readings for every outlet with % of design, separate totals for supply, return, exhaust and fresh air, and equipment data — model, serial, filter and belt sizes, and amps before and after. It's emailed as a PDF when the work is done.

Can you seal the ducts too?

Yes. We're a certified, factory-trained Aeroseal dealer. Aeroseal seals duct leaks from the inside, with leakage measured before and after. We can test the ducts, seal them and balance the system in one visit.

Do you do duct leakage testing for inspections?

Yes. We pressure-test sections or whole duct systems to the project spec or code requirement, document the results for inspection, and flag leak locations so they can be sealed.

What areas do you cover?

New York City (all five boroughs), Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk), Westchester and the lower Hudson Valley, and north and central New Jersey.

Are you certified?

Yes. We’re NCI (National Comfort Institute) certified commercial and residential air balancers, BPI (Building Performance Institute) certified, and a certified, factory-trained Aeroseal dealer.

Do you do duct blaster tests?

Yes. What most people call a “duct blaster test” is a duct leakage test, and we run it with Retrotec duct testing equipment — to the method and number your spec or code calls for, with the results documented for the inspector.
