Air balancing (TAB)
We measure airflow at every grille and diffuser and set the system to the design numbers.
- Supply, return, exhaust and fresh air
- Dampers, fan speeds and drives adjusted to design
- Equipment readings: amps, belts, filters
What most people call a “duct blaster test” is a duct leakage test. We run it with Retrotec duct testing equipment, to the method and number your spec or code calls for, and hand you results the inspector can sign off on.

A duct leakage test pressurizes the duct system and measures how much air leaks out. Many new construction and renovation projects need it tested and documented before close-out. We test with Retrotec equipment, report the results, flag where the leaks are — and if the ducts don’t pass, we can seal them with Aeroseal and retest.
New construction, renovations and existing buildings that never felt right. Residential and commercial. We can test the ducts, seal them and balance the system in one visit.
We measure airflow at every grille and diffuser and set the system to the design numbers.
Seals duct leaks from the inside, including the ones hidden in walls, ceilings and chases that can't be reached by hand.
Water-side balancing so every coil and terminal unit gets the flow it was designed for.
Pressure testing of duct systems to the project spec or code requirement.
Balancing scheduled around your close-out, with a report the GC and engineer can sign off on.
Testing to the spec, with design and measured numbers side by side for every outlet.
Hot and cold spots, tenant complaints, and re-balancing after a renovation or a layout change.
Rooms that never heat or cool like the rest of the house, measured and fixed at the source.

We set a date that fits your schedule and take readings at every outlet and unit.
Dampers, drives and valves are set until the readings match the design numbers.
A clear balance report, emailed to you, ready for the engineer, inspector or owner.
Commercial and residential work throughout:
Testing, adjusting and balancing. We measure the airflow at every grille and diffuser, adjust dampers, fan speeds and drives until the system matches the design numbers, and document it all in a balance report.
Yes. We balance and test new construction, renovations and existing buildings — commercial and residential — including homes with rooms that never heat or cool like the rest of the house.
Design vs. final readings for every outlet with % of design, separate totals for supply, return, exhaust and fresh air, and equipment data — model, serial, filter and belt sizes, and amps before and after. It's emailed as a PDF when the work is done.
Yes. We're a certified, factory-trained Aeroseal dealer. Aeroseal seals duct leaks from the inside, with leakage measured before and after. We can test the ducts, seal them and balance the system in one visit.
Yes. We pressure-test sections or whole duct systems to the project spec or code requirement, document the results for inspection, and flag leak locations so they can be sealed.

Yes. We’re NCI (National Comfort Institute) certified commercial and residential air balancers, BPI (Building Performance Institute) certified, and a certified, factory-trained Aeroseal dealer.
